How Does Dental Financing Work?
Dental treatment can be an unexpected expense, especially when you need more than a routine cleaning or exam. The good news is that dental financing can allow you to pay for eligible treatment over time instead of paying the entire cost upfront.
At 7 to 7 Dental & Orthodontics, financing options are discussed after your dentist completes an exam and creates a treatment plan. Elyse Ramos, Director of Treatment Coordination, helps patients understand their treatment plans and the payment options available to them.
How Does Dental Financing Work?
The process starts with your dental exam. Your dentist will evaluate your oral health and discuss any treatment you may need. Once your treatment plan is created, our treatment coordination team can review the cost of treatment and go over your payment options.
If you choose to explore financing, you can apply through one of our financing providers. If approved, you'll be able to review the options available to you and make payments according to the terms of your financing agreement.
Dental financing is different from dental insurance. Insurance may help cover eligible services according to your plan, while financing allows you to spread your treatment costs over time.
What Financing Options Does 7 to 7 Dental Offer?
We work with three financing providers: Cherry, Sunbit, and CareCredit. While all three can help patients pay for eligible dental treatment, they aren't exactly the same.
Cherry
Cherry is a healthcare financing platform that allows patients to apply for financing and review available payment options if approved.
Cherry focuses specifically on healthcare financing, giving patients a way to spread eligible treatment costs over time.
Sunbit
Sunbit is another healthcare financing platform that allows patients to apply and see the financing options they may qualify for.
The available payment options and terms can vary depending on the individual patient and the offer provided.
CareCredit
CareCredit works differently because it is a healthcare credit card. Once approved, it can be used toward eligible healthcare expenses at participating providers.
Depending on your eligibility and the offer available at the time, CareCredit may offer promotional financing options. Terms and conditions vary, so it's important to review the specific offer before choosing a financing plan.
What's the Difference Between Cherry, Sunbit, and CareCredit?
The biggest difference is how each financing option is structured.
Cherry and Sunbit are healthcare financing platforms, while CareCredit is a healthcare credit card. Each has its own application process, approval requirements, payment options, interest rates, and terms.
There isn't one financing option that's best for everyone. Your available options can depend on your individual circumstances and the offer you receive.
When comparing options, look at the monthly payment, repayment period, interest or promotional terms, and total amount you'll pay.
Our treatment coordination team can help explain the options available for your treatment, but the financing provider determines your approval and the terms of your financing agreement.
What Happens After Your Treatment Plan?
At 7 to 7 Dental, we want the financial side of dental care to be just as clear as the treatment itself.
The process is simple:
Your dentist completes your exam.
You receive your treatment plan.
Our treatment coordination team reviews your payment options.
You can apply for financing if you choose.
Once you've decided how you'd like to pay, we help you schedule your treatment.
“We want patients to understand their treatment and their options before they make a decision,” says Elyse Ramos.
Making Dental Care Easier at 7 to 7 Dental
We understand that cost can sometimes be a reason patients put off dental care. That's why we offer different ways to help make treatment more manageable, including financing options, dental insurance, and our in-house membership plan.
If you've been putting off recommended treatment because you're unsure about the cost, schedule an appointment with 7 to 7 Dental & Orthodontics. We'll start with an exam, explain your treatment options, and help you understand the payment options available to you.
